Our client is a Swiss technology startup dedicated to saving honey bees on a global scale. We are committed to creating innovative solutions for the beekeeping community, to enable healthier bees, more robust food systems, and a sustainable planet. We develop and distribute hardware and software solutions for beekeepers. Our flagship product answers a critical beekeeper problem since over 4 decades. It is a chemical-free, Varroa heat treatment, that controls the parasite population in the hive. Our core team consists of technicians, scientists, marketers, and beekeepers and has been in operation since 2016. Due to a strategic reorientation, we are looking for a:
Position
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) 100% (m/f/d)
As our new Chief Executive Officer, you will be at the helm of our organization, transitioning the company from start-up to commercial entity. You will be guiding the team through the challenges of commercializing the product in B2B (commercial beekeepers) and B2C (Hobbyist beekeepers) markets, followed by its expansion and growth. We are looking for a leader who is highly collaborative and hands-on, capable of inspiring our team and steering the company towards long-term success
Responsibilities
- Execute our strategic roadmap to guide the company’s growth and scale operations.
- Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, ensuring alignment on goals, strategy, and long-term vision.
- Build and foster a high-performance team culture that values achievements, integrity, and teamwork.
- Ensure fundraising from VCs and family offices to fuel our future growth.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the company, representing us to investors, partners, and stakeholders.
- Oversee financial management, ensuring the company’s profitability.
- Drive operational improvements, streamline processes, and ensure accountability across departments.
Your Profile
- Experience: Proven track record as a CEO, C-level executive, or equivalent leadership role, ideally within a high-growth startup or innovation-driven environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Background in agriculture, AgTech or foodtech, with a clear understanding of market trends and challenges.
- Sales and marketing professional: preferably having led an internationally oriented business unit.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: Passion for startups and a “builder’s mindset”—someone who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Leadership Skills: Strong communication, mentorship, and team-building skills; ability to inspire and unify a diverse team around shared goals.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to think long-term and guide the company through scaling challenges while identifying key growth opportunities.
- Investor Relations: Experience raising capital and managing investor relationships with a network of institutional investors.
